The large dark wolf moved among the trees; blending in perfectly with the night that surround it. It made no sudden noises as it moved swiftly, without waking a single soul it passed. Those who were lucky enough to catch a glimpse could only define it as a dark mass, moving through the forest. It was another day of the regular routine. It was out in the search of anyone who dared make their presence known without any permission. He was alone for this roung, knowing well the others needed their rest. He continued to run, his tongue sticking out to the side of his jaw as he did so. His legs moved gracefully as they helped guide his larger body through the maze of trees.
He couldn't help but wonder if he was lucky, or a fool to go out on such a night as this. It was calm, peaceful. It could mean something was coming, or simply as it says nothing is happening. Most nights have been like this, ever since that boy's departure. He wondered if he would ever return back here to his old home. Perhaps he would. No matter what he might have said, he would welcome his old friend with open arms. After, of course, a little roughing up. The wolf came to a stop as it looked around its surroundings. His fur brisstled with the wind. He sat down, scratching a sudden itch behind his ear. He shook the dirt from his pelt, licking his paw.
Without a second thought, he raised his head and let out a deep loud howl from his throat. It echoed through the cold night, stirring up animals from their sleep. Those who hadn't gone to sleep stared out to the forest, wondering why such a wolf would be howling. Their eyes could only see the darkness and the moon above that did little to brighten up the ground beneath. Sam could only wonder what the night might bring tonight .

Taking a deep breath and looking over his shoulder to the the alarm clock sitting on his bed side table, Jacob read that it was two o'clock in the morning. He was home for a day or two, and he couldn't sleep. He wondered where Skyla was and how she was doing. He was worried about her, like he always was. He knew that she would be worried about him. He had only left a note on the kitchen counter saying that he would be gone for a day or two. He didn't say where he would be going. He wasn't even sure why he had come home for a couple of days. What was the point? he thought looking up at the ceiling with his hands behind his head, deep in thought.
Turning over onto his side, he sighed deeply again and closed his eyes, trying to get to sleep again, but it was pointless. He couldn't. He sat up, flinging his legs over the side of his bed before standing and walking over to his window. Undoing the latch, he slowly and silently opened it inch by inch until it was open enough for him to jump out of. Taking off his shirt and pants, he then placed his hand on the frame, he jumped outside, landing silently on the leaves out side. He hoped that no one was around running through the forest. He didn't really want to see anyone of the pack yet, but he needed to run for a while, get his mind clear so he could sleep.
Phasing, he instantly felt that Sam was on the run and it seemed to be that it was only him running. He was glad. Sam may have been the only one who would understand him the most toward what was happening in his life right now.
He took off running through the forest, darting trees quickly as he ran between them at full speed but silently and invisibly through the night. He kept to the shadows so no one could see him, a trick he had learnt while living in New York. His mind stayed silent, so Sam wouldn't be able to hear him at first. He then heard a sharp howl coming from not far away. Jacob let out one of his own through the night, making it slightly louder before taking off again in a full speed run. He urged himself toward the cliffs, he knew that was most likely where Sam was. And sure enough, peering through the bushs and scrubs of the trees, Jacob saw his old Alpha looking over the forest of their land. "Hey Sam," he said softly, slowly walking out of the cover of both the shadows and scrubs with his head down low.

Sam stopped his movements as he heard the howl that pierced through the night after his own. It seemed familiar, from where he cold not tell. His eyes narrowed as he waited for a bit, his fur swaying with the wind like the blades of grass beneath his paws. His claws began to dig into the damp dirt beneath due to all the showers as of lately. It didn't help that the sun was rarely out.
He turned when he heard someone approaching. He had sensed the being once it had shifted allowing him to know it was a werewolf much like himself. However, as the scent was the first to get to his senses before a sight of vision, it was familiar but had something new. It smelled of, well the complete opposite of La Push. The being might have showered, but it had a ever lasting presence of his surroundings.
Sam watched as the being approached, hearing that voice brought him back to a time of troubles but pure enjoyment as well. He stared at the wolf before him; it had been so long since he had seen the boy let alone the wolf. He had come across a few who resembled the destined alpha, but of course none were him. It surprised him to see him bow before him, but then again he was was glad his teachings hadn't gone in vain. He nodded towards him, still standing tall for he was still Alpha of the Quileute pack. "Jacob," he replied as he moved towards him."Didn't think I'd see you after so long," he added.

Stepping away from the cover of shadows and trees, slowly Jacob stepped up to his Alpha. Standing before him, he bowed his head once with hearing his words. “Neither did I. But time changes things and people I guess.
” he said softly, standing proudly. “ I’m only here for a day or two though. I’ve got to . . . go back and help a friend out with some stuff she has going on. I only came back to see if I was . . .” he trailed off, looking up to the bright moon above them. His train of thought came out wrong. He had meant what he had thought, but he didn’t want Sam to know the reasons why he had come back only for a few days. He knew that it would sound stupid to his Alpha to hear the new ways of how Jacob thought. He didn’t think that he would be still wanted after all the stupid things he had done in the past and how much pain he had caused people. He was still in a way that same stupid kid that had ran off, but, the only difference between then and now was the fact that he was lost to what he needed and wanted to do. He didn’t know what he wanted anymore, he wasn’t sure what to do for fun, because all the stuff he did for fun back in New York was getting into trouble and partying. He had missed his old life, but he was confused to what he should do now that he was back. He knew that he needed to go back to New York and work things out with Skyla, but he also wanted to come back and stay and take his rightful place as an Alpha. But he also knew, if Skyla stayed in New York, he would be forever worrying about her and what she was doing. He knew that she couldn’t be alone in the state of mind she was in. She needed comfort and someone who understood her. Currently, he was that person who understood her, and she understood him in return. His ears flickered back and forth, listening to everything around them carefully. He was more wary of his surroundings as of late. He took more notice to each sound, scent and appearance. He had learnt there was more to things than people first thought. He had learnt those skills back in New York. He sighed suddenly, shaking his head. He knew that Sam would have caught all his thoughts within that moment. He knew that he would have a lot to explain for himself. But where to start, was the hardest part. He didn’t know where to start explaining. Words: 458 Status: Done Lyrics by: When It All Falls Apart - The Veronicas Notes:-- Tags: Sam

Sam looked up to the night sky, closing his eyes as his fur swayed with the bitter wind. He didn't think it would ever be this kind of whether, but it seemed to be lightning up. He then turned his attention to the younger wolf, his eyes closed as he laid down on his stomach. His fur came into contact with the damp grass and moss beneath his paws, he let out a yawn. It has been hard, trying to keep up with look outs when you were down to so many numbers. His ear twitched at his words, nodding as he understood. However, he hadn't been expecting the loud and rather confusing thoughts that ran through that boys mind.
If anything, Jacob only seemed to get even more confused before he left. He seemed, so...confused and bewildered and Sam could only make a sense of a few things. Silence ensued, as Sam could only hear their breathing now. At least the boy began to calm down. His mind was calming down. But he was still the troublemaker as always he realized. "So, how has New Your been treating you?" he asked.

He wind swayed through Jacob's pelt. He breathed in the sea air deeply into his lungs. How he missed it's scent. The scent of home seemed to calm him greatly. He looked down to Sam with hearing his question, seeing him now lying down on the damp ground. Jacob sat, staring down at his paws for a moment before answering. "Fine, I guess. . . well apart from the cops, parties, drugs, drinking, troubled werewolf and the crazy werewolf seducing vampire I came across. Yeah, its been great,
" he thought sarcastically, rolling his eyes and huffed. Now he knew he would hear about it. He laid back on his side, stretching against the grass. He yawned while looking out to the horizon, closing his eyes while thinking over the past two years. " I've had more than enough of the city life. I'm more than ready to stay in the country again. There's too much trouble in the city. . . well, in New York anyway." Words: Meh, didn't bother to count lol Status: Done Lyrics by: When It All Falls Apart - The Veronicas Notes:-- Tags: Sam

Sam listened to the boy's list of complaining. He never did change, perhaps his attitude but who he is hasn't. He chuckled, as he stared back out into the ocean, the moon appearing on the waters below. He wanted to laugh, really wanted to laugh at his tone of choice. He certainly was complaining. "Well, that is what you find in a large city Jacob. It's an everyday occurrence I believe," he said as he turned to gaze at him.
Sam then turned back to look forward, enjoying the silence and calm of the night. It got darker, when the clouds began to hide the light of the moon from them. The grounds were covered in a blanket of darkness. He listened to his next words and shook his head. "Whether or not you come back is all up to you, but all cities have their problems as does La Push and Forks. Besides, it something different when you make a friend in a place you find strange," he spoke, another yawn escaping his lips.

Jacob smiled at Sam, knowing that he wanted to laugh, he rolled his eyes playfully. He watched as the moon disappeared behind the cloud, leaving everything pitch black around them. He sighed. He had been enjoying the light of the moon shining down on him. He hadn't been able to lay under the light of the moon since he left. It was too much of a risk of been caught in his wolf form to sit back and relax."Yeah, it was around a daily occurrence. I liked it for a while, but now, not so much. . . And would you believe it?! Edward came and seen me, and seemed to be that I got into more trouble while he was around and couldn't get myself out of it to when he wasn't. Seriously, how does that happen?
" Jacob couldn't help but add humour to the last part. He couldn't understand why he would get wrapped into serious trouble that he couldn't get himself out of even with Edward's help and yet he had gotten himself out of trouble a billion times before that. He sighed shaking his head. He did have a good time back in New York, at times. But even when he was in trouble, he was having fun explaining everything that had happened. He looked back to Sam with hearing what he had said. " It is, but, its not like being home. Plus, I rather put up with La Push and Forks any day compared to New York. Seriously, the things that happened there . . . you don't wana know. . . I'm hoping she'll come home with me. She's not stable enough to be felt alone. I don't even like leaving her for a day or two. I'm coming home Sam, and I'm staying after I go back, but I don't know what I'll do if she doesn't back with me." he sighed, keeping his eyes closed. He heard Sam suddenly yawn. " Where are the others, what are you doing out here so late been so tired?" he questions, sitting up and watching Sam's movements. Sam remained silent, listening to his words. His ears twitched at that name, Edward Cullen. He hadn't seen that boy in such a long time. He wondered, though he may never admit afterward how all that Coven was doing after so long. He couldn't help but chuckle at the question, but he himself had no answer and simply shrugged. His tail tapped the ground beneath, ears twitching as he heard the rustling of night creatures coming to life.
His ears shifted towards Jacob as he began to speak again, this time adding another person to the mix. He sighed and straightened himself out, his head tilted to the side for a bit before turning to look at the younger wolf. He could understand his concerns. Sam could see how attached Jake got to this female. It was evident both were lost without the other. "You've grown attached to her," he commented once he finished his questioning. His gaze turned upwards before he closed his eyes. "The others are around, but I simply told them to take the night off for tonight. Things have been slow lately which we are all grateful for, but they can't help but feel something big is happening," Sam explained seriously.

He looked down to his Alpha as Sam looked up to him. "Sort of. She has a crush on me, but I don't feel the same way. I only have and want friendship from her.
" he looked away from, stretching himself out on the damp grass. " I don't think I'll feel the same way about anyone else." he sighed, his thoughts then suddenly drifted to Bella and their past together. What he would give to have her as his own was incredible. He would give everything he had to have her in his arms and her returning his love he felt for her. Jacob's eyes flashed open with hearing Sam's thoughts of something big happening. He sat up quickly, and looked to Sam with narrow eyes. " I've felt the same thing, but I thought it was just because I was in the city. I wonder what it could be." he looked to the grass beside him, thinking deeply. He sighed suddenly. " I don't know how you stand all the responsibly and not knowing what's coming next." He scoffed at his own words then. " No I do know, I just don't know you do it with a whole pack. Its bad enough with Skyla. I turn my back on her for a second and she's in trouble with someone or thing. Its like having a puppy in a drug lab. Not knowing what its found and not knowing what its had." He stood, shaking the leaves and dampness from his pelt. He took a few steps forward before looking back over his shoulder to Sam. " I guess, I'll find out sooner or later." he whispered, wondering what Sam would think now. Words: -- Status: Done Lyrics by: When It All Falls Apart - The Veronicas Notes:-- Tags: Sam

Sam remained silent, never once making a comment but rather listened to what he had to say. He had always been judgmental, but after periods of silence for so long time had made him patient, calmer than what he used t be. He grew more understanding, more patient especially from all the complaining of of Paul. He shook his head at his words, he was to quick to judge. He felt that same way with Leah, before he shifted. He believed he loved her with all his heart, but he soon changed and imprinted on Emily instead. He was just grateful they were talking again rather than constantly glaring at each other.
"Not all the people are the same Jake, you can't think you'll be able to change people just because you care about and because you are trying to help. I learned that from all of you. Yes sometimes it gets frustrating, but you have to learn how to course people, guide them on their own terms. Paul has a quicker temper than you, though your both up up there. I have to have more patience with him than with you. And I stand responsibly tall because it's a duty of mine as alpha. I must show how strong I am, no matter how I feel inside," he said as he stood on his legs.
"Jake, if you truly care about the girl, sometimes you have to use force, not simply wait forever. I had to have some patience with all of you, but I didn't sit around not doing anything after a bit," he added before he shook his entire being, drops of water slightly flying from his pelt. He looked up, seeing a storm coming soon. "It was good to see you Jake, hope we can meet in good circumstances again," he said as he began to head back home, giving him a final nod.

Jacob nodded with hearing what Sam had to say. He could understand easily what Sam was saying. He watched as Sam got up and looked to the sky. They could both sense there was a storm coming.
Jacob smiled slightly. "I see what your saying Sam, but, it doesn't matter how strong you act, I can still see what your feeling, and I understand that. And thank you for the advise. You will see me again. I promise.
" And with that, Jacob run off toward home at full pace. The now strong wind blew through his pelt, and felt droplets of rain falling on his back.He looked up to the black sky just in time to see a lightning bolt fork through the sky. He just reached home when the rain started to fall heavy. He phased back and pulled on his pants and shirt before closing the window and going back to bed. He looked out his window, seeing it was now dusk. Words: -- Status: Done Lyrics by: When It All Falls Apart - The Veronicas Notes:-- Tags: Sam
