Since being in Forks, Bellas days had been pretty much the same thing. She'd either work at her part time job, see a friend or two or was at the Cullens residence visiting Eme. Holding back within her thoughts of the very need she had to see Edward just one last time. Of course she knew he had come and gone throughout time, but each time, it was never enough for her .. to just know he had been home. What was life without love in it.. what was life without the ones you loved the most in it?
That was just some of the questions that plagued her mind while she made that long walk from the side of the road where she had parked her car to that Meadow she had shared privately with Edward. This was where she came to yearn. This is where she came to think and be at peace with things and life in general. Only thing was, it was never her and Edward, but just her as of lately. So many things were changing again. Two years brought back so much in a matter of weeks. She could feel it in the air around her, only couldn't place what was going on.
The walk led Bella through thick shades of trees and when she finally did find the opening of the meadow, she walked to its center and lowered down to sit. She didn't sit for too long, before she was moving again and shifting so she was laying down in thick grass and wild flowers. With eyes up into the sky, she let of the softest of sighs and let her thoughts drift. If only she could reach out and touch Edward again... like that very first time there within the Meadows. If then, maybe, she could make sense of all her emotions. Loving him was so unlike loving Jacob. She loved both equally, but for seperate reasons.
Esme had told her that early morning that Edward was coming home again. She had to pretend as if she didn't know. It tore her up because more than anything, she didn't want to leave their house without one more look to him. Was he thinking of her? Would she even know what to do or say, had she been given a wonderful present of seeing him? More questions, all that never seemed to come with an answer for her. In her softest of voices, she whispered out to him.. I miss you.. I miss coming here with you..Will you ever come home and stay this time? |

Edward knew he was to be with Bella. He knew he wanted to see her. He hadn't seen her in a while - he hadn't seen anyone for that matter;except for Jake. He was on his way back, entering Forks as he spoke his thoughts to himself.
He was speeding up the highway, thinking of the imminent moment when he finally sees Bella again. He wanted to hold her now. He was deep in thought, as he drove near Charlie's house - "Maybe..." He said, as he stopped the car outside and ran to hopefully surprise her.
He then got the sudden feeling that she wasn't at the house. He thought, "Hmmm...maybe..."As he blurred back to his car and drove to his mansion of a house, through all the trees and various plants....
Nope. She wasn't there. Edward then begin thinking with a creased eyebrow as he ran through places that she might be, when he suddenly felt a thought creep into his mind...
He didn't bother with the car, and set off running as fast as he could to the meadow, sporting a huge grin as he thought of hers.

She hadn't heard Edward running through the forest or even heard him coming up to the clearing. She wouldn't of seen him yet being she was laying down in the tall grassy flowered clearing. It was a moment between rain storms so she could look up to the sky for a bit and watch clouds as she thought to herself.
She could hear the birds chirping off in the nearby trees. The wind softly blew and she could hear the soft rustle of leaves. She had been so glad that Edward shown her this place. No one came here. It was their place and theirs alone. With him gone though, she took pride in keeping this place welcomed in her heart.
As her eyes closed and her hand came out from her side to lay against the ground, she tried to picture that very first time she was here and where he had held her hand. She could remember vividly how cold it was but the warmth that ran through her at that very moment spoke of something she hadnt ever felt in her life. She had loved Edward from that very moment. A sigh slipped her lips.
She had seen Jake a few days back and the two had talked at great length. She couldn't figure out for the life of her, how and why he would tell Jake to never stop fighting for her. She felt as if Edward hadn't ever loved her right then when she heard those words. Why hadn't he come back to her? Why couldn't HE fight for her? She had to push these thoughts out of her head. She didn't want to cry again.
Unfortunately it was a bit late to not want to cry though. Bella was always the emotional one on things such as this. By the time she reopened her eyes and sat up, there were tears running down her cheeks. Great Bella, crying over a vampire youll never see again. She huffed. It was all her fault wasn't it in the thick of things? She had been the one to call off their wedding and leave for a while and then return to find life so different. Not only had she lost Jake for two years, she lost Edward for just as long it seemed.

Edward ran to the edge of the clearing, being careful to stay shaded for now. He then heard the faint sob of Bella and noticed her in the meadow. Her blood still sang out to her as clearly as it did when he had her first encounter. He started to circle the meadow, staying in the shade. He resisted the urge to run up to her and embrace her so strongly, but Edward was very vigilant about her behaviour, he started circling.
He kept on going and he whispered, in a low, almost inaudible voice, "I'm right here Bella". He stopped for a moment and just stared at her, her angelic face being covered in tears. He didn't understand why he didn't walk to her.
But he stayed for a moment, before walking out into the sunlight.

Bella had brought her palms up to her face to wipe away her tears when she thought she heard the faint whisper of Edwards voice. It was like those times years ago when she was being that daring brave young woman and he would come to her telling her not to do this or that. Only this time, she could of sworn he said he was there. But if he had been, where was he?
She slowly pushed palms back down into the grass and pushed herself up. She looked around. Turning around from the left side of her to take in not only the clearing, but the line of trees. Her heart raced. Just as it had every other time in the years past that she was with Edward. No, this wasn't a dream. He was there, but where? She had turned about halfway around from her original position when she seen him step out from the tree line and shade of those trees.
Her first instinct had been to run towards him, but she still was in awe, or shock, that he was there. He had come home! Or was she seeing things! More importantly, could things go back to the way they were? She always loved him. Without a doubt that love had remained. Only she had to share her love with another and Edward always was patient. Understanding. Why? That was something she could never figure out, even when he had told her it was her happiness that was what mattered most.
Her body had a mind of its own then. Before she could stop herself, she was running in the direction of Edward. It only took moments til she got to him and she jumped up into his arms. Arms and hands wrapped tightly around his icy body and instantly she shuddered. She had almost forgotten how his body felt. Not only was it strong, but so very cold. None of that mattered. Hands went to his hair and she grasped a light handful and kissed him deeply. It was the pull he had over humans that always had her doing that, as well as her own desires.

Edward suddenly thought to himself, "Should he be here, does she want me?" but none of that mattered when he knew what she would do. Edward realised then that Bella was running towards him, he smiled to himself crookedly, happy with himself. Before he had time to talk, he felt her perfect self against his cold model. He could also feel the tug of his hair in her hand. He knew then he had to return her deep kiss. He was overjoyed to have her scent again, right here.
He was dancing inside at the fact that she was there, her scent the most amazing as ever. He couldn't contain himself, he wanted to kiss her forever and never stop, he wanted to smell her hair over and over again. He wanted her. Her only. She was his world, and it finally made sense again. He whispered, "Bella" with the lightest of voices, almost inaudible.

It was those times that she wished Edward could see into her thoughts and know of all the emotions and questions that she had. There were so many of them as well as feelings. First things first though, she had to talk to him, find out if he was going to leave her yet again.. then, then.. she could say sorry as she had a million times before for calling off their marriage.
Why now Edward? All those times you came home, yet wouldn't see me.. I cried for you. At times in the night, I could swear you were there. So close I could reach out for you. Esme knew I was hurting, I think in part that is why she tried to keep things from me..about your where abouts. I visit Esme and Carlisle almost daily..I miss you and the others. Alice said shes on her way home too. She sounded worried. I don't know why.. What is going on Edward? Are you staying home this time? Bella and her ring of questions. She threw them all out at Edward with nearly not a pause to breath. When she realized how tight she was holding him she gasped and loosened her grip. Lowering down to her feet and letting him go slowly, with hesitance clearly seen.

Edward watched Bella's expression as the cannon of questions fired...Edward just shook his head and trying to calm her down....."Bells....Shh, shh, shh....." He said as he kissed her hair "No need to worry, I went to see Jake, that's all." Edward lifted Bella up slightly and held her close to his face, "Please....I am not leaving YOU again! I can't bear it anymore. I need you too believe it or not as much as you want me.." Edward saw her go to her feet. He wanted to apologize a million times but her knew that wouldn't be enough.
"Please."

Bella really wanted to believe what Edward was saying. How he would never leave her again. She sucked in a deep breath and shivered lightly. She was scared and happy all at the same time. She was afraid to say alright and that she needed him and loved him all over again. She couldn't even count the times she had, but only to have him leave again. It wasn't until he spoke of it being unbearable, was she able to calm her thoughts and believe him more on the matter. She gave him a nod of her head and then looked down.
She wanted to make sure he was alright. Just as he always had, she found him intoxicating and beautiful. Breathtaking was more like it because that was what he did every time she seen him. She gave him a nod when he asked her please. She couldn't think straight suddenly. Between the kiss and being so close to him, she was about to gasp out. He was doing it again to her. Did he even know. Struggling. It was what she was doing.
She took a few steps back from him and shivered hard as hands were brought up to tightly cross her chest. Her eyes never left him though. She couldn't look away from Edward. When he mentioned about seeing Jake, her brows shot up. Yes, he told me he seen you. That you told him never to give up wanting me. It seemed so...surreal. Like you were not wanting me anymore. Only then did she finally look down sadly. He mentioned having a girl out there, that really liked him too. Did you see her? A part of her was envious and jealous. Her feelings for Jake shining right then in those few words. How could she be like this. With two wonderful men? One, the one she was before, she should of been married to him.

Edward realised he must have done something wrong when a frown hit his face, he kept his eye on Bella though. He couldn't believe he was here, with her. He had to lapse up everything in this moment.
He walked forward and grabbed her arms folded together, pulled them apart and held them to his chest, "The reason I said that was to keep him going, His life is an ongoing fight at the moment and he wants to think that you'll always be there as the prize." At the next words, he was shocked, "Of course I WANT you, I need you, I love you.."
He moved his grip of Bella's hand from his chest to his cheek, "...Yes I did see her, but she seemed to shy away from me when Jake was near me. To be honest, I doubt they're 'together'"
He just held Bella's hands and looked into her face longingly, like he was trying to memorize (not that he needed too) her face.

Bella swallowed again. Only this time it was a hard swallow. She felt as if she couldn't even think straight enough to swallow though truthfully. If she had, she would of been able to think of Jake too at the moment and what he had done. She watched as his hands took hers to his heart. Had it been one to beat, she knew she'd feel his right then. It would be like hers, which was about to explode.
When her hand came to his face, her palm pressed against it. The other came up to match the first. She leaned to kiss him again. Tears begin to slide down her face. It wasn't from tears of sadness for the most part, she was happy. Happy knowing Edward had loved her. The worst of her fears were melted. I love you too, Edward. Always have. She pressed a kiss against his cold nose and then blinked.
He spoke of that woman of Jakes and shook her head no and pulled from Edward in an instant. Or tried to. She couldn't do this. She needed air. She couldn't tell Edward what had happened. She knew why those two weren't together and why Jake wasn't more than a friend with the woman in New York. Softly her voice grew...she started to get nervous. Edward..I know... I know why Jake and her seemed that way to you. It was because of me.. he.. he... She couldn't bring herself to say it.

Edward raised his eyebrow, he didn't like Bella's connection to a werewolf. He felt Bella kiss him, "Bella, why are you crying?" He said softly and kissed her hair again. He felt her mood go from happy to something else. He thought of what could he have done?
He then saw Bella trying to step away from him, he tried to follow her. He heard the words of Bella saying about the girl Jake was with. He twitched his lip and tried a crooked smile, "Because of you?" He narrowed his eyes slightly at the thought of Jake...."He what?"

Edward, promise me you won't hurt him. Promise me first and I'll tell you.. She knew how he could get when upset. Especially where Jake was concerned and he didn't want either of them to hurt. She moved back over to Edward and took ahold of his hands. Her brown eyes bore into his golden. She was worried. Or was it frightened. Oh this wasn't going to go well at all and she knew it! Promise me please Edward.

Edward closed his eyes, took a deep breath and sighed, "For you, yes. I promise. Although, I think may know."
Edward tried another smile to make light of the situation but that wasn't happening. "What is it Bella. I won't......hurt...him," He forced those words out.
"I promise"

Bella gave Edward a soft little nod of her head when she heard him promise. She had to let go of his hand with one of hers to push a few stray strands of brown from her eyes. It was then she noticed how much she was shaking and as soon as she had noticed this, she immediately lowered that hand back down.
Well here it went, she uttered out the words to him and held her breath immediately after. He imprinted on me, Edward. Boy, did her voice ever shake!
